Returning to this theater is a musical comedy based on Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Princess and the Pea”, a fairy tale with wit, sophistication and human feeling.

Set in the fifteenth century and carried on a wave of wonderful songs, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance introduced a new Broadway star by the name of Carol Burnett when it opened in 1959.

In 1965, it was shown on TV as a special and a new production of this delightful musical opened on Broadway in December, 1996, starring Sarah Jessica Parker.

It boasts a good score and is a show for the entire family. Memorable songs include “Shy”, “In A Little While”, “Happily Ever After”, “Sensitivity” and “Normandy”.
